Christian education is for everyone! The Lutheran tradition puts a high value on Christian education. At St. Peter, some of our particular strengths as a congregation are our Sunday School and Milestone Ministries.
The Board of Christian Education regularly meets at 6:30 on the fourth Monday of the month. Their responsibiilities include facilitating educational programs, coordinating and equipping volunteers, and planning Sunday School and VBS. If you have questions about any of our church's education ministries, feel free to contact our Education Coordinator, Miriam Bjornstad at email@example.com or (563)-663-6558.

9:20-10:15 Sunday mornings from September - May
The goal of our Sunday School program is to offer meaningful, engaging instruction in the Christian faith. We currently use SPARK! curriculum which has a strong focus on the Bible, helping children to become more familiar with God's Word to build a relationship with Jesus, the Living Word.
All children from age 4 through middle school are invited to join us for our Rally Day on September 10! Worship will be at 9:00 a.m. with Sunday School registration, Blessing of the Backpacks and classroom time starting at 10:00 a.m. A meal will follow.
Sunday School is not just for children! Each Sunday during the school year, adults and high schoolers are invited to the fellowship area for Table Talk teaching and discussions.
One of our newest education ministries is a play group for the youngest in our congregation. If you have a child who is not quite old enough for regular classes, come join our Splash Play Group for children age 3 or younger. This group is for both parents and children. Talk to Amy Welter for more information about play group. (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Milestone Ministry is an intentional partnership in ministry between a child's parents and sponsors, and the congregation, throughout the young person's growing years.
Our Milestones are bases on the Baptismal promises parents made when they brought their child to receive God's grace in the gift of baptism. Milestones are way to help parents fulfill those promises.
For more detailed information about our Milestone Ministry, please contact Miriam Bjornstad (Education Coordinator) at email@example.com.
Confirmation is for all students in 6th through 8th grade.
For information about Confirmation, please contact Pastor DeWayne Teig.
Our 2017 VBS, Maker Fun Factory - Created by God, Built for a Purpose, is set for
August 7-11 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The VBS themes - that each of us is uniquely made by a loving God who is always for us, always with us and has a purpose for each of us - are reinforced as the kids rotate through the activity stations. During Bible Discovery kids will interact with the Bible characters Rahab, Joshua, Gideon and Abigail. Kid Vid Cinema has real life inspirational stories of five kids. There will be fun gizmos and gadgets in Imagination Station and as usual the super music is a vital part of the week. Registration deadline is July 10.
Registation forms are in the church office or on the VBS bulletin Board in the Gathering Area.
For more infomation about VBS, contact Miriam Bjornstad
Scholarships for camp are available from the St. Peter Foundation, and there's also a $15 sibling discount. Contact Miriam Bjornstad (firstname.lastname@example.org)
All are welcome to visit St. Peter at any time or to get involved with any of the ministries going on here. If you are interested in becoming a member of this congregation, we'd love to have you! For information about joining, please contact Pastor DeWayne Teig at 583-0860.
New member orientation is usually held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall, and new members are formally welcomed at a worship service shortly after orientation. If you are not a member of St. Peter and are considering membership, you are welcome to attend the orientation, whether or not you decide to become part of the congregation.
